Do You Really Need a Title For This?!

©2007 J!mbo
Not because I'm bitter or anything. But because I'll be busy singing romantic songs to my new PC. Imagine me, a Mexican hat and a guitar, singing a spanish song in front of the monitor... I'm losing it... I need a coffee!

By the way, happy St. Valentine's day, I guess!

My Dead Country!

©1979 Kaveh Golestan28 years have passed since the Islamic Revolutionaries of Iran claimed their victory. On 11th of February, 1979, the last of the Royal Troops surrendered their guns in hope for peace. 28 years have passed since that day and Iran has not seen a single peaceful day. It began with endless executions, religious reforms, hostage taking and soviet style propaganda. Followed by 8 years of bloody war with Iraq, more executions, more propaganda and more pain. Then 8 years of terror and even more soviet style reforms. Everything was the Islamic version of Gorbachev's moves! More TV stations and a couple of more Newspapers. No more mass executions. Instead, gas leaks, car accidents and unexplained hearth attacks...

Then it was time for a short break. Suddenly, over night, newspapers started to grow like mushrooms. They dared to write. People dared to read and talk. And then, they all disappeared one after another. Nobody dared to ask why. Those who did ask were stabbed, strangled to death or suddenly "died of natural causes." People began not to dare and care. Happy citizens got happier. Sad citizens got sadder. And idiot citizens became MPs, ministers and even President. People still didn't care. Instead, they joked! Idiots ruled and ruled and kept ruling and people kept making fun of the Idiots. Nobody cared to think about the consequences of idiots ruling their country. Nobody dared to imagine a war. A new bloody war.

The country that started to rot years ago, kept rotting... And in the end, it just died! And I didn't care!

256!

As I was Photoshopping for a friend last night, my loyal and hard working laptop had a a little stroke and lost half of its RAM. I had to decide whether to spend £25 on a new memory module and wait for it to be delivered in 10 days or spend a little bit more and buy a new PC! Guess which option I went for... By the end of next week I will be blogging on a machine with 4GBs of RAM. Even thinking about it makes me high. It's been 5 years since I worked on an up to date computer and I can't wait to hear its... Amigo just texted me and interrupted my typing. He reminded me that I have to wait for another week. Mean fatso!

p.s. Yesterday's interview went well. Unconditional offer.

Selfishness?!

I was preparing some of my old highschool and university transcripsts for tomorrow's interview when I figured something out for the 1000th time! They're not glorious marks and I delt with this fact long time ago. But what still amuses me is that most of my marks don't make sense! For example, 17 out of 20 in Engineering Maths, which I think is the most difficult math module for Engineering BSC students. But then I failed in General Mathematics 1, which is slightly more advanced than Highschool maths! Or Information Modelling (MySQL programming)... 78%. I remember I had less than 24 hours to hand in my project, starting from scratch! C++ Programming 1: 69%, but C++ programming 2, which is by far harder to digest, I got 81%!

See, the way I see it is that I get good mark on whatever module that I find enjoyable and interesting. I stayed up for 24 hours to hand in 19 pages of MySQL code on time and I actually enjoyed doing it. But on the other hand, I had 9 out of 20 on religeous studies (a Goddamned 90 pages book; Multiple choice exam)! Why? Because I wasn't enjoying it. So I thought to myself, "why bother?"! It's always been like this. I study what I like and the rest of the lecturers can go to hell for all I care!

That's kindda selfish, don't you think? But the problem is that I am not a selfish person at all. Not one bit. I actually dislike selfish people! And I have friends and family to testify on this!!!

Anyway, I can't remember what I wanted to say... So, yeah! That's it for now.

Laziness!

In less than 48 hours, I will have an interview with [hopefully] my next personal tutor and head of department! Fortunately, I've two offers from other universities. But I would rather stay in Guildford than moving to a new town. I don't feel comfortable letting somebody else ruin my lovely furniture! I want to do it myself! Plus, I'm waaay too lazy to move, anyway! For example, I've been wanting to put up three of my old lenses on eBay for over a month now. Considering that I don't have a template, each auction should take about 10~15 minutes of my time. What I have is time. But the only reason that I haven't done it yet is laziness. Driving license. New passport. And even washing up them dishes from three weeks ago are other examples! I'll do them tomorrow! Maybe!

Onion Bhaji!

I don't think I've written about anything but food and movies for a looong time. Dunno why, really. Maybe because I don't have anything else to say! Yeah that must be it!

Anyway... What I really wanted to say was that I just finished my first Indian dinner of the year! Lamb Biryani with mixed Vegetable Curry, Onion Bhaji, Sag Aloo and the usual sides like Popadoms and Chutneys. I'm so full that I can hardly breath!

Yeap, that's all for today!
